German Dative Case Articles — The Feminine Surprise Explained
In the dative case, masculine and neuter both use dem, plural uses den+n, but feminine gets a shocking twist — die becomes der. This is the single most common dative mistake English speakers make. "Ich helfe der Frau" not "die Frau." The dative articles are: dem, der, dem, den.
